The Hurt LockerJanuary 8, 2010
“Nail biting and emotional keeping you at the edge of your seat with every turn!“
A very real depiction of war, especially one that we are currently fighting. In this story, Jeremy Renner plays a sergeant in the army who is in charge of disarming bombs in Iraq. Yes…that’s his job!! As seen in the most intense opening sequences where his predecessor dies after he is unable to disarm a bomb, just shows the magnitude and dangers of this job. Iraq does look like the dangerous and violent world that we are accustomed to seeing and those factors are definitely a huge part in the film. The cinematography that accompanied the film was also noteworthy and really brought you into each scene. Although a serious drama highlighting the affects of war on people, there were also some funny moments between the actors in the film which showed that these people were also human beings as well. Definitely one of the better pictures of the year. I can agree why it is indeed one of the strong contenders for best picture at the academy awards.
