Weekend Update February 12-14

February 10, 2010

“After Dear John ended the seven week reign of Avatar, the film will lose it’s spot after a more normal single weekend at the top spot.  This weeks crop of film see two standouts and one indie worth seeing.  The Wolfman starring Benicio Del Toro and Emily Blunt, a remake of the 1941 classic which will definitely attract the twilight, horror and fantasy fans.  A smaller release, My Name is Khan, will be hitting theaters about love and portrayal of Muslims after 9/11 and the things a man has to do to reconnect with his separated wife. But the top draw for the Valentines Day weekend is the film by the same name about relationships and love with a popular casts ranging from Julia Roberts to Taylor Swift.  Coming into 3600+ theaters, the film is this years He’s Just Not Into You and will take the top spot as the watch it film of the week”

Valentines Day, The Wolfman, My Name Is Khan

Watch It

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightening Thief,

Netflix It (Although I am sure there are a lot of teens and tweens who will come out for this film, i don’t see the same draw as the Potter series attracting an older fan base?  This to me seems to be a younger version made for a younger crowd.  I would much rather wait for Clash of The Titans which is the same genre for adults)
